28th April Damazan vs TCC WOLVES

First South West League victory of Damazan CC is a pleasant news to arrive, against ’Toulouse Wolves’ on Sunday the 28th April 2019. It was a well deserved victory after having travelled exactly 153 Kmsfrom Damazan. Captain Gagan & Swaran drove 10 players in 2 cars to Stade de Sordelo31400, Toulouse to play their first fixture of the South west League organized  by France Cricket and sponsored by Blevins & Franks. It’s a beautiful ground except that the match was to be playedon a plastic 2g flicxpitch which can be slippery if wet.

DCC Captain Gagan won the toss and elected to bat. The team batting first has the option to bat up to 40 overs. Hassan and Ahmed opened the batting with extreme caution and patience. However the opening bowlers could not penetrate the batting defenses. Ahmed opened his arms and struck a few boundaries but was caught on the bowling of Edrees for 18 at the score of 31. Gagan went in to make sure no more damage happens. He succeeded in taking the score to 88 but miscued a big one sending it straight up at 90 degrees. Gagan was caught, bowled Sharif for 26. However the instructions were to keep moving the score. Hassan kept the runs flowing as young Altaf  was ready to strike. Hassan was caught again on the bowling of Sharif for 31 at 107. Shazeib joined Altaf and both took the control of the situation. They made it look everything very easy and took the score to 253. Shazeib struck 11 sixes and Altaf 4.  Shazeib was out for 113 as he almost threw his wicket. Altaf was unlucky to be run out at 63. Dalim and Asher added another 26 quick runs. Dalim11 was stumped off sharif who took 3 valuable wickets. Asher 15 and Swaran 2 were not out after 40 overs. Richard ,Zain and Ehsaan did not get to bat. Damazan ended with 317 for 6.

TCC wolves batting was a sad story as no body really went beyond 24. Skipper Peter Jarvis and Tanzil Hague showed some flashes in the beginning but skipper Jarvis was bowled by Asher for 18  and Tanzil was ct by Richard Lytton off Shazeib for 24. Sharif also scored 24 runs but was clean  bowled by Shazeib. Uchchal and Edrees started to stop the ball carefully which worried the DCC skipper Gagan who had to bowl full wolves team to grab 10 points in 35 overs. Gagan brought back quick Zain who clean bowled steady Uchchal for 13. Then came the young George stopping every ball very carefully. Gagan brought in Swaran who took Edrees, Mizanoor and Phillip in a span of 14 balls. Gagan trapped Rafiul for a duck and had earlier trapped Sriram lbw. TCC wolves were out for 123 letting DCC a huge victory of 194 runs. Thank you TCC for your generous refreshments and hospitality and, Garry for umpiring and DavidMcouluckfor standing as  leg umpire.

3 Cheers for Damazan. Gagan 2 /24 Shazeib 2/33 Asher 1/28 Zain 1/28 and Swaran 3/4
